This is a fine art print of the original watercolour & ink painting of the Richmond Palace on the Richmond Riverside.
This painting depicts the remnants of the Palace, however, it saw plenty of significant moments during its time. It was built in 1501, on the site of the former Palace of Shene, and became the showplace of Henry VII’s kingdom. It saw his death in 1509, and the death of Elizabeth in 1603. But was sold to the commonwealth, after Charles I’s execution in 1649, and was largely dismantled, the only building left is the one seen here.
